Chiropractic Care

at Thrive Family Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a health care model that starts with the fact that our bodies have an amazing inborn ability to heal. With that in mind, chiropractic focuses on the integrity of the nervous system and the structure of the spine. Gentle chiropractic adjustments applied to the spine and nervous system get the brain-body communication back to functioning at full capacity.

While we believe that everyone can benefit from chiropractic care, we also recognize that you and your spine are unique. Rather than provide the same care to all of our members, we craft a customized plan of care designed specifically for you to get the best possible results. We are trained in a variety of chiropractic techniques and continually attend seminars and conferences to learn the latest and most advanced approaches. Our goal isn’t to simply help you reduce pain or feel better, it is to maximize your body’s performance and help you reach your health goals.

What to Expect at Your Initial Visit

Your first visit is comprehensive and starts with reviewing your health history. Followed by that, we evaluate your posture using a digital assessment tool that measures the distortions and imbalances in your body. Next we use state of the art technology to measure the output of your Nervous System (brain and each nerve), muscles, and heart rate variability. This gives us an incredible overall picture of your health.

On your second visit we go over everything in a personalized Health Report.

FAQ:

Chiropractic works because it focuses on the Nervous System. This system is made of the brain and spinal cord, which is protected by the spine. Billions of instructions flow from your brain, down the spine, and out to every organ and tissue. Signals are also sent back to the brain to confirm your body is working correctly. Improper motion or position of the bones of the spine are called subluxations, which interfere with this vital exchange. Specific chiropractic adjustments improve this mind/body communication.

There are three basic causes of subluxations

  • Physical causes include slips and falls, accidents, repetitive motions, chronic bad posture, improper lifting
  • Emotional causes such as stress, grief, fear and anger
  • Chemical causes include environmental toxins (mold, pesticides, pollution), alcohol, drugs and poor diet

You can have subluxations and not even know it. Like the early stages of tooth decay or cancer, subluxations can be present before warning signs or symptoms appear. However, signs are there. Pain, anxiety, fatigue, and poor bodily functions such as high blood pressure, slow metabolism, constipation, etc, can be signs that you have these subluxations. The results of an examination can show the location and severity of subluxations.

Lubricating fluids are present in all joints and some adjusting methods can produce a sound when gas within that fluid are released. Much like a soda can that releases C02 gas when opened, the joint releases the same! The sound is interesting, but it isn’t a guide to the quality or value of the adjustment.

As long as you want to be healthy. You wouldn’t go to the gym once and be in great shape or brush your teeth once and have healthy teeth. It’s a commitment to your health habits. After all, you get your teeth, eyes and your hearing checked regularly-why not your spine? Your whole body will thank you for it. Depending on the person’s age, occupation, lifestyle and health goals, each patient’s care program is custom-tailored for their needs.
